John Wayne Parr, an international kickboxing and Muay Thai legend, collides with Cosmo Alexandre in a Muay Thai rules “rubber match” in the Lion Fight 25 main event.
The vacant Lion Fight super middleweight title (167 pounds) will be at stake during the Oct. 23 clash and strapped around the winner.
Parr and the unpredictable Brazilian (Alexandre) have tussled twice before, with each getting his hand raised once. For nearly seven years both elite fighters have hungered for a trilogy; their wish will finally be fulfilled on the Lion Fight stage, with Lion Fight 25’s entire main card broadcast live on Fight Live TV.
“Our third fight will be action-packed,” said Parr, a 10-time world champion who has been fighting professionally since he was 16 years old and owns marquee wins over Yodsanklai Fairtex, Cosmo Alexandre and even former UFC standout Duane “Bang” Ludwig.
“I won the first fight, Cosmo won the second. He’s a great fighter and I have a lot of respect for him. Cosmo is huge for the weight classes. He has very strong Thai technique so I have to bring my A-game if I plan to win. This is our third fight and we both want to prove a point, so it’s guaranteed we won’t be leaving anything in the tank.”
The co-main event for the night will feature Jorina Baars defending her Lion Fight Women's Title against Martina Jindrova. The pair fought in 2012 under Kickboxing rules, a bout with Baars won by decision.
