Dana White took to Twitter to respond to the Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield after the well-known sports writer openly criticised the UFC in a recent article following UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane.
With Rothfield’s article labelling the UFC as ‘barbaric savagery’ amongst other harsh descriptions, White was quick to fire back, voicing his displeasure in a message to the sports writer via Twitter.
“That story makes me sick. Men like (you) have no clue what it takes to do what they did (on Saturday night),” said White.
He wasn’t finished there, as he later tweeted “How you can disrespect two men that did what they did shows what kind of a man you are. Buzz light year, (you are) the disgrace.”
Rothfield did not reply directly to White but revealed he had received numerous angry and derogatory responses from fight fans all over the globe. However, he later Tweeted that he’d be meeting with Tom Wright, the Director of UFC Operations in Australia, for a ‘healthy debate’.
There have been no reports as yet revealing what was discussed between the two.
